F1 Grand Prix

Some people call us a city.
Others more graciously call us a Country.
We have 4.4 million people; hardly enough manpower to fuel the start of a war.
We are a young country, with hardly enough history to fill the first few pages of historical texts by other established nations.
We don't have natural resources. And we don't have enough land.
Our people don't produce enough babies
We import everything-our olympic medals, our population, our groceries, our shopping...just about everything.

but

we have one of the world's strongest economy
we have one of the world's most well educated work force
we don't have natural resources but we damm well have the money to buy them
we might have to import everything but hey isn't globalisation the in thing now
we are building the largest IR in the Asia Pacific

and we are the host of the inaugural Formula One Grand Prix Night Race 2008 (:

i'm so proud of Singapore. Look at what we have achieved. An amazing night race in the city and i'm honoured to be a part of it. Here are some pics i took :

From the marina grand stand

Random Ferarri fans. but i say....go Mclauren!!

The singtel gate where people flood in

The huge ass screen with shows the whole race

random shots of cars and the parade
my glamorous work clothes . i bet no one knows what i work there as

The only things u need at an F1 race. EAR PLUGS. and a poncho
The congested lanes filled with spectators right before a race starts

hahah and well, though im pround of SG and all, working there was tough as hell. presenting , the F1 welfare for volunteers . check out our makeshift "canteen" and the never ending queues.

Did i add that the food was fucking fantastic?

the full house crowd on the grand stands right before the race starts

spectators flooding the race tracks after the race

I was quite up beat about being on the race tracks until James reminded me that it was just another singapore road. :(

i met another hamilton fan on the track. Go LEWIS!!!!!!

And pictures with the other ushers after work.
